3. Are permits and inspections required for a roof replacement?
Absolutely. Always use a licensed and certified contractor registered to do business in your county. The cost of pulling the permit is built into your roof replacement estimate. Typically, two inspections are required. The dry-in inspection certifies that waterproofing and sealing was done correctly before the shingles are installed. It ensures the the roof is properly protected against water intrusion and meets state building codes. The final inspection ensures that the remainder of the roof was installed correctly. We can provide you with a Certificate of Completion showing that the building inspector passed our inspections upon request.

All roof replacements come with a 5 year workmanship warranty. If you are replacing your second roof with us, we offer a lifetime workmanship warranty; we have been in business so long (25 years!) that our happy customers who contracted with us to install a new roof 20 or 25 years ago are now returning to us for their next roof! The shingle manufacturers offer their own warranties on the shingles themselves; their warranty information can be found on their respective websites.
8. How long does it typically take to replace a roof? And what happens if it starts to rain while you're working?
Most shingle roof replacements in Jacksonville can be completed in 1 - 3 days, depending on the size of the home and weather conditions. At White's Roofing Company, we work efficiently while protecting your property from debris and inclement weather, while ensuring your new roof is installed to the highest standards. We carry tarps on all our vehicles and will immediately stop working and protect your roof from any water damage if it begins to rain.
9. Do you use subcontractors?
Absolutely not! All of our employees work directly for us and are on our payroll. And we treat our employees like they're family! As a result, many of them have been roofing with us for years. One foreman has been with us since we started the company 25 years ago, and the other has been with us for 15 years! We have very little turnover here, because it's such a great place to work!
